Buying a camping table – what really matters

The roll-top folding table – compact all-rounder

With a roll-top folding table, the tabletop rolls up – resulting in a particularly narrow packed size. The legs are stowed separately or secured to the frame. Advantages: quick to set up, easy to transport, robust in use.

The ultralight folding table – when every gram counts

Minimal in weight, minimal in packed size: the tabletop detaches and rolls up separately into a narrow tube – making the table fit in any pannier bag.

The bamboo fold-up table – solid & homely

With a fold-up table, the legs fold in and the tabletop splits in the middle – the result is a compact, suitcase-style package with a carry handle. The top itself remains solid. Bamboo conducts very little heat, making the table comfortable to use even in hot conditions.

The Groenberg Skal features a solid bamboo top (70×100 cm), infinitely height-adjustable legs, extra-wide feet and two integrated bottle openers. Seats 4–6 people, 30 kg load capacity, 9.8 kg weight.

The Eurobox table – for modular van setups

Anyone using Euroboxes in their van knows the problem: a separate table takes up space you don't have. The Eurobox table solves this – it sits as a lid on the box and becomes a freestanding table simply by unfolding the stainless steel legs.

The Groenberg Boks Table comes in S (40×30 cm) and M (60×40 cm), in bamboo with black stainless steel legs. Only 6 cm flat when stowed. Stood on its side it also serves as a windshield for the cooking area.

Stability on uneven ground

Campsite ground is rarely flat. Individually adjustable legs – ideally infinitely adjustable – are the most important difference between "constantly wobbling" and "standing firm". Both the Variety L and the Groenberg Skal feature infinitely adjustable legs.

Load capacity: 30 kg is the realistic sweet spot

Tabletop material: aluminium vs. bamboo

Aluminium (Variety L): robust, easy to clean, stove-safe. Fabric cover + aluminium (Liberty L): very light, but not suitable for direct stove contact. Bamboo (Skal, Boks): homely, pleasantly neutral in temperature, low heat conductivity – but heavier and more comfort-oriented.

Extras that genuinely matter day-to-day

Mesh shelf (Variety L) – ideal for kitchen accessories and spices. Detachable, rollable top (Liberty L) – makes transport much easier. Integrated bottle openers (Skal) – underrated until you need them. Windshield function (Boks) – protects the cooking area in the wind.
