Pop-up, Quick-Up or classic: which system suits you?
Beach tents differ mainly in how the poles work. That decides set-up time, take-down and pack size. We don't sell pop-up beach tents, but we explain them here for comparison.

With children at the beach you need space, somewhere quiet for a nap and a place to change. A family beach tent should be big enough for everyone and have an entrance that closes.

A beach tent for a baby should offer three things above all: a stated UV protection factor, good ventilation and a floor your child can lie on. Here's how the uquip models compare:

Dogs need a shady spot at the beach too, where they don't have to lie on hot sand. A beach tent for your dog should be big enough for them to lie down, have a floor and be easy to carry. Fresh water is always a must.

On the North Sea, at Lake Garda or on the Atlantic coast, wind can end a beach day quickly. How well a beach tent stands depends mainly on how it's anchored:
- Sand pockets – filled with sand, they hold the tent down.
- Guy ropes – add extra hold in gusts.
- Pegs – secure the tent on grass and firm ground.

What's the difference between pop-up, Quick-Up and classic beach tents? ＋
Pop-up models unfold by themselves thanks to a spring steel hoop and are twisted into loops for storage; packed, they're a flat, round disc. With Quick-Up, the poles are built into the tent and go up with one pull – that's how Buzzy, Speedy and Speedy XL work. Classic models like Shelly and Shelly Mini have fibreglass poles that you thread through – in return, they're the lightest and pack the smallest.
Which beach tent is suitable for dogs? ＋

How do you fold up a beach tent? ＋
It depends on the design. With Quick-Up models, you release the joints and fold the tent. With classic models, you slide the poles out, fold the tent and roll it up. Pop-up models are twisted into loops – that takes some practice.
Beach tent or beach umbrella – which is better? ＋
A beach tent gives shade not just from above but also from the sides, has a floor and can be anchored with sand pockets and pegs. For longer beach days, with children or a dog, it's usually the more practical choice. An umbrella is quicker to put up and shades a larger lounging area.
